Install
PCI Host Controller
If
you're not familiar with installing new hardware in
your computer, please refer to your owners manual
before installing this card.
After
installing the USB 2.0 PCI Host Card Controller into
an available PCI slot in your computer, boot up the
PC. In Windows XP After booting your system the
USB 2.0 PCI card will be recognized right away and all
drivers will
be installed automatically. Windows 98/2000/ME will
need the drivers provided
on disk and available on this web site. You may also download
the install manual for
assistance with the driver installation. |

To
verify all drivers were installed, open your device
manager and scroll down to Universal Serial Bus Controllers
and expand the tree. The NEC drivers should be present. |

The
5 Port USB 2.0 PCI Host Controller Card is an excellent
choice to both expand your current system USB capabilities
and future USB capability. With 4 external ports and
1 internal port for future products that come out
on
the market, this card is the right choice. I used
4 peripherals to test this card, they were a scanner,
printer, USB
optical
mouse,
and a 16Meg USB Key drive. All worked as expected
with
no
problem. All peripherals with exception of the
mouse and key drive were USB 1.1 devices
and were all connected to the card at the same time
so
port
switching and performance
for devices was not a problem when being used simultaneously.
If your in the market to expand you USB capabilities
on your desktop whether it's a NEW or OLD system I
would recommend this card. It certainly allows for
more peripheral performance and device connections.
